Recoil pad should be fitted before you start sanding.

Re: Stihl Battery Chainsaw
I've had the MSA160 for a couple of years now, very happy with it. My first chainsaw but have had no problems. Got a pole pruner at the same time, takes the same chain no trouble with it either. Keep an eye on gumtree I got a hedge trimmer with battery and charger for less than the price of a second...

Re: My Winnie 94 Tru-Oil Stock Refinish
For a high gloss Tru-oil finish use the aerosol Tru-oil for the last coat or two.

Re: Ruger no1 gunsmithing
There should be a spring, and cap on it, to keep the extractor in place. Could it be missing or faulty? that would be the first thing to check.

Re: Cleavers for cheap barrels
I got one too, didn't measure the groove diameter but needed a .217" pilot on the reamer, standard .218" wouldn't fit. Good looking barrel, straight and smooth.

Re: Cleavers for cheap barrels
Got out to shoot the 6.5x47 today, a bit windy out at Ripley, but never mind. It is one of the easiest barrels I have had to clean, virtually no copper from the first shot. I just used the loads from my previous barrel and at 200yds best group was 19mm worst 31mm with 140 grain Nosler Custom Comp bu...

Re: Cleavers for cheap barrels
I picked up a 6.5 barrel this morning, looks good inside & out, measures pretty good just under .264", but you would need to cut 25mm off the muzzle as it is slightly bell mouthed, would still finish at 26", 5 groove, nominal 8" twist actually close to 8.25. It is going to be a 6....

Likely to be 1/4"BSF to match up with common Parker Hale accessories of the time.

Re: Parker Hale M98 bolt issues
1mm is on the short side of firing pin protrusion, but you need an accurate measurement, it should be close to 1.3mm or 50 to 55 thousandths of an inch.

Re: Parker Hale M98 bolt issues
If the rifle was not misfiring before and it is now, and you are saying the firing pin strike appears light, then excess headspace may be a cause of the misfiring. Bolts and parts like the firing pin don't wear much and the 98 Mauser is a reliable design.

Re: Parker Hale M98 bolt issues
If you think the Gunsmith is dodgy, it may be a good idea to have the headspace checked if the rifle wasn't misfiring before the rebarrrel job.

Re: .22 silhouette
You need to check your ammo at 100m, it is not all uncommon for ammo to shoot well out to the turkeys @77m and be pretty ordinary in the accuracy department at 100m, like 20% would miss a ram usually vertically.

Re: Miroku MLR trigger
I have done several Miroku/Brownings this way and use a combination of diamond & ceramic hones. You already have the holes in the action to see how things line up, no need to make a jig.
