270 Winchester pressure confusion

I managed to pick up (about 9 months ago) a set of Redding type S dies in 270 from eBay. Having enticed the seller to ship from the States, the seller had told me that he had attempted to reload ammunition and all to no avail. The dies finally arrived and upon opening the package and inspecting the ...

Re: Having a scrounge on the Beach

Curan,

You wouldn't believe it.

I've been reinstated by Patrick as a casual.

It all works out in the end. [WINKING FACE]

Re: Having a scrounge on the Beach

Yes Lonerider, I must admit that I'm not having any luck on the beaches that I've hit. There was one location (a beachside hotel) that has been left in a state of disrepair and that no one really knows what is happening with it. It's rumoured that it was going be renovated but no one really knows. I...

Re: What are your Simple and cheap camping recipes?

Many years ago as a young Scout in the Australian Army we never had time to cook the shit in the ration packs and so we were forced to eat it cold. Had we of been Air Force pukes or Naval pus we would have been afforded Ala Carte Chefs, first class menus and without doubt psychologists to deal with ...

Re: Having a scrounge on the Beach

G'day Lonerider, I've been checking the signage of where I've been sweeping. The last thing I would want is to be be fined or have my equipment stolen by the policy enforcers of local Government. I went out again today and found nothing. I'm starting to think that the beaches must be pretty well swe...

Having a scrounge on the Beach

Numismatics is something that I have an interest in - particularly from the Roman Empire. One of my favourite coins in my collection is a very fine coin that was minted on order by Marcus Antony in honour of the Praetorian Guard that had pledged allegiance to him. My first find with the detector was...

Re: Having a scrounge on the Beach

Thanks all. I'll take that all on board.

I've also just purchased a 20 inch coil, a hard carry case and an assortment of other necessities such as a pick and shovel - I'm anticipating to get out to a few old diggings and hopefully find myself a big nugget or two.

Having a scrounge on the Beach

probably thinking is this worth taxing  I almost said to him "I wouldn't tell you anyway because you'd want to tax me" but he had his kids with him and I didn't want to humiliate him in front of his children. As I was walking back to the car an older bloke was going fishing and asked...

Having a scrounge on the Beach

Howdy All, As some would know I was recently made redundant - nonetheless I've since been enjoying my free time. With the Shekels that I received from Patrick and amongst other things, I purchased a metal detector - a Garrett ATX and I intend to compliment some hunting with a bit of fossicking. The ...

Re: Bullet puller?

Yes, I have a few bits of flannelette in mine.

Using the pliers with the press is the way to go.

Re: Bullet puller?

Kinetic hammers work better with heavier projectiles (less force required). They're no good for soft tipped projectiles or projectiles that you've spent hours meplating and pointing. I've bashed plenty of rounds out over the years and lost too many to count because of the hammer. The time and effort...

Bullet puller?

The bullet gripping pliers are the way to go.

You can buy these from most custom gun smiths and suppliers such as PVM or BRT. You can also order them from the US.

Kinetic bullet pullers are a waste of time and effort and that generally lead to damaged projectiles and powder everywhere.
