Thinking of Ian D from accross OZ

Post by a.JR »

Hi All , One of ours from the Long Range disciplines is not doin to well right now .. My thoughts go out to Ian Davis down Wollongong way in his time of need .. I had the pleasure of Ian staying at my house some years back during our Iron man event in NQ .. Good times ,great competitor ,pity there is not more like him A bunch of us in the Nth caught up with Ian in Narromine in 2012, that alone was worth the trip .. If there is another life i'll see ya there at the H/G benches down the track..JR.. Jeff Rogers

Since JR has started this thread i would like to add that there has only been two people in BR that i would call a gentleman in the true meaning of the word. One was Ray Edwards from WA and the other is Ian Davis. I know that everyone from the Townsville club is hoping Ian can get past this horrible disease and that we will see him at another match either here or elsewhere.
I agree with Jeff, the trip to Narromine was worth every penny just to see Ian again.

Cheers mate.

Not a good day when we lose one of our own. As already said, we are diminished.

In addition to being wonderful company and great fun on a rifle range, Ian was a caring and committed family man.

My thoughts are also with his wife Leslie and children during this very sad and tough time.

We have lost a true Gentleman of the sport and a great guy.

Very sad, my thoughts go out to Leslie and Ian's family at this sad time.

I will organize an appropriate tribute at the next Batemans Bay Fly Shoot in June. From Memory Ian came third in 2012 and won this event in 2011...

He will be missed

RIP mate

Last time I saw him, only maybe 6 months ago, you'd never have known he wasn't well...
RIP Ian.
