Restocked the 223
Hopefully give it a run at 600m tomorrow and do a ladder test with 80gr sierras. JBM tells me my load with 55gr sierras should just make it that far before going subsonic too.

Looks pretty shmick! Just upgraded the stock on my Howa 223 to a boyds thumbhole in coyote tan

it's funny how plastic stocks were the bee's Knee's !!!!!! now wood has made a comeback I just finished my 223rem on an Ultimatum action ,,it's shoots very nice so far,,again it's in wood

Nice rig mate.
I’m now working out what to finish it with. 2k clear is easy these days, I have a proper respirator and you can get cans of 2k clear from most auto paint retailers. But part of me still wants to go oil based, just a shame most seem to yellow the colour a bit.

go with oil finish! it's easy to touch up if needed, I just go and buy linseed oil with added drying agents, it's dam near purrrrfect

There is a way That will neither yellow or react with the glue in the laminate
I have done a couple and it is a lot easier than you think
