Mmmm I'm thinking under lights 56mm objective 30mm tube probably 8 power.
Not sure what brand.
Have a Nikko Sterling with the above credentials for my .243 which seems to work well under lights.

Well if you like that scope, and it works for you, there is no reason to not get another. Sure they are a cheap scope, but if that's what you can afford, go for it, not everyone needs to spend nearly a grand on a scope. I don't have 56 objective lenses, I run 50s, not a lot of difference but you can mount them in a better position I find, and still let in plenty of light when spotlighting, just a bit less bulky. :D

Depends a fair bit on the intended use. There are so many choices it's mind boggling

On my 204 I went with a leupold VX2 6-18 x40 great scope shot lots with it was about $650 when I bought it, but it's lacking under the light for me now as it is really only used for spotlighting at the moment. Day time use it's great easy seeing and taking rabbits at 200 plus...I'm after a pice of euro glass now :? . Saving ..saving ..saving  .

As many have told me get the best you can afford and go from there.

It's tough, all the best.

I would also ask this question.

How do you react your rifles? Are they ogled and lovingly cleaned and maintained? Or are they banged around and dinged up? I am the latter so I would not be buying anything blued or with a high quality wood stock. I would ruin in pretty quick. My rifles are stainless synthetics for a good reason and serve me well.
