No checkering for a while. Have made the pistol grip bigger in diameter than normal. Feels ok for off the bench. May get changed down the track.

So any chance if I drop off a couple of old cupboard doors you could knock up a stock for me?

Kicken, I adjusted the trigger to as light as possible and still safe. Had to a file a bit off the head of adjusting screw so mag would still feed. It is very good as you said.

The wife thinks its pretty good, she only likes timber stocks

Have some ammo loaded so more testing this weekend. Currently has Meopro 6-18 on it. Not sure what I will use in the longer term, may need a bit more adjustment to get past 700m or different mounts.

Beautiful afternoon here for shooting.
Took it out this arvo for some practice and a few loads with 105gn Lap Scenars. Will stay with 29.5gn of 2208 same as the Hornady 105gnHPBT. I need to get more consistent with my technique and get use to the rifle before I chase more accuracy from the loads. What I would consider good with my hunting rifles I realise are fliers with this rifle, three shots together and a couple away.
Kept three rounds of the Hornady 105 HPBT to try at 300m mainly to check trajectory but the group was OK for me.

Well had a good session yesterday morning to try it out. Low cloud about 8-10 degrees and vertually no wind. Set targets frame and gong at 0m and then another set at -50m. So as I moved the shooting position out I could shoot two distances, eg. 200 and 250m.
Well I worked my way out to 850m with dialling the scope and shot 950 holding over, then ran out of ammo. Had to hold 1.5moa for breeze at times. At 950 took me 4 shots to get on the gong then hit the 65mm centre flipper . So packed up and finished with a smile on my dial. . Definately starts to drop after 850m. Really enjoyed the session as I had never shot passed 500m before. Got some good dope for trajectory but will need to check next time.
Mainly used the Lapua 105 but also used some 87gn Vmax which went pretty well out to 600m and should be good for cheaper mid range practice.
I have done everything you shouldn't when mounting the scope. As I needed as much up travel as posssible I 3d printed some shims and sanded them and gained about 18moa. Got away with it on a low recoiling rifle.
Now that I know what the rifle will do I will set it up properly and look for a bigger scope and mounts. The Meopro 6-18 is lacking in travel for this use.
Really enjoyed shooting the 6BR with low muzzle blast, low recoil, low barrel heat so you can keep shooting.
I can get out to about 1300m at this location. Maybe next time, just for laughs.

Macca, I see why people say the 6BR is a good cartridge to start on. It will teach me a lot. Now to start tuning the load.

Going to order some Re 15 powder that Tony Z suggested and give it a run.

Had The 6BR out today for some more testing. Rifle now wears a Sightron S3 6-24x50 I bought off a member here.
Bought a couple of bottles of RE15 as TonyZ suggested and some Berger 105 Hybrids. Also loaded some more Hornady 105BTHP.
At 100m in good conditions, the target squares are 1moa. The two flyers in the Hornady's are probably me but the tips on them are pretty uneven which probably is more noticeable further out. The Bergers went well.
There was no sign of excessive high pressure with primers or measuring case heads which I got from 30.8gn+ with ADI 2208 so may try a bit more powder for interest sake but around 30.0gn seems to be pretty good with either projectile. Need a chrono, anyone have a MagnetoSpeed for sale at a good price .
The Canadian barrel from Cleavers seems to go ok and cleans up easy.
Enjoying shooting this rifle and the cartridge, learning a lot as well.
