G'day all
Been reading posts in this section for a while and thought I'd better say hello.
I kicked off with air rifles as a young bloke, like most, and have had a keen interest in them ever since. At the moment I have a R1 .25 courtesy of Lewis a few years ago, and recently picked up a HW97.
Just put a Maccari kit in the 97 also courtesy of Lewis.
Looking forward to dropping in now and then

Hi Ian,

Welcome to the forum. If you've been dealing with Lewis already, then you already know the best source of all info relating to airguns ........... but this forum is a good second best

regards, curan

Hi Toggle, welcome.

How do you find the HW in 25 cal? I am looking at doing one myself.

Mine is a santa rosa R1 bought from Lewis who refurbed it and it's been a solid performer,no doubt about it.
It shoots with a brisk"thud" and accuracy is excellent with JSB exact kings.
The trajectory curve is far flatter than I expected from a 25cal springer and I've shot over rabbits more than once over estimating.
Definately effective on rabbits, brutal on mynahs and rats,I reckon you'll love it.

Welcome! I had a '97 from Lewis too. What a great air-rifle. I didn't realise what a good springer could do until then.Glad you could come and join our merry band!

Welcome mate. I have a HW80 that I put a .25k barrel on and a Maccari kit. Great fun and smacks the rats. I have had a few HW97. I have a blue lam stock in the cupboard so looking for another or a HW77. Never stops.
