Air rifle Scopes

G'day,
I have mounted a Tasco world class scope on a cheapo Norica titan air rifle,
my mate reckons it will stuff up the scope as an air rifle puts different stresses on a scope than a conventional rifle does & it won't handle it, the optics in an airgun scope are braced fore & aft to compensate for the differing recoil.
Any theories ?
I would have thought if it could handle the recoil from a .223 or even .303 it would be ok .....but then again, i'm no expert

He's right.
Rim and Centrefire rifles always recoil backwards. Spring piston airguns have two very different types of recoil in each shot plus more vibration.
As the trigger is pulled the spring is propelling forward then it pushes the air out and the pellet then vibrates as springs to. This gives it both forward and backwards recoil (spring guns recoil is much harder then a 22lr) as well as vibrating which shakes the shit out of the hairs and some scopes wont handle this at all. You are better off going for an airgun rated scope. . Speak to Lewis from Beeman he will help you in anyway he can.

Lewis, have you heard of, or tried Leapers Bug Buster scopes? Parallax down to 3 yards apparently. Would be nice for low powered air rifles...
