I have a Varmint reticle. The scope is a 8.5-25X50 L/R. It is on my Rem PSS 308.
I took no notice of whats in the little book that comes with the scope, all the ranges and hold points, and made my own.
The drop chart I made works excellent for the particular load for the rifle. I need only one scope change, and I have 0-500m covered.
So yes, I like the varmint reticle, but didnt use the info. in the book!
Cheers

I have the Varmint Hunter reticle and have likewise worked out my own drop chart for my .243 Ackley . Works well for my 3400 FPS 80gn load at 18 power .
Suggest you use an exterior ballistics chart for your various loads to work out the optimum power setting and sight in distance . With a little work you'll probably find you can get within an inch at each range setting .
