If class isn't a concern ... why not drop to a smaller caliber, pick up some better pills and cut the recoil? Your up for a new barrel anyway ... add an adaptor and maybe build something softer to shoot?

Lone rider , I have shot sub 2in groups @ 550 yds from a 200 Smk which is 1.420 long in a 13.5 twist .. You will strike no problems with the bullet being stable using a 13 twist in a 308w with bullets from the Sierra range from 110 to 190 gns in any temp.. If they shoot great or not is another question altogether ..JR.. Jeff Rogers.. PS Maddco do not make 30 cal 1/2 twists (10/11/12/13/14/ etc)

we only allowed to use FMJ here,no lead or plastic tips.
308 doesnt have alot of kick con...
they shoot prone here.
as i said before the distances i want this for is 800,900 and 1000 yrds.
i can use the fullbore for the other distances.
i really havent ventured past factory rifles before,so this is all new to me.
