Old Toy 20 PPC
After seeing OL-55`s success with Benchmark 8208 in his new toy 20 PPC .
I thought what the hay I will give it a go as well.
I started at 27.5 and went in .2 gr increments velocity increase was very even as the charge weight increased.
Accuracy was more than acceptable but it is a PPC case
I got Primer cratering at 30.2 grains of 8208 behind the 32 z-Max velocity was 4400 fps
Accuracy at 100m for 4 shots was this The 2 to the left were loaded at 30.2 and .4 velocity for these 2 were 4440 and 4460 fps.
There was a bit to much wind last Sunday to go out to 200m but I am going to load some more up at 30 gr which gave me 4375 fps easy bolt lift and no primer cratering.

Re: Old Toy 20 PPC
What bolt face size is the PPC case suited to.
from what I have read it appears to be 308 or am I wrong? And is the primer size an issue large to small and vice versa
It's Just I'm not using one of my rifles and the 20 PPC has peeked my interest. Might just be a passing brain fart but I'm interested.
Cheers

Re: Old Toy 20 PPC
Its a bolt face all of its own. A decent smith can open the bolt face of a 223 sized action or maybe bush a 308 bolt face (yeah, its in between them)
Most guys look for a PPC bolt face. Its developed off a russian case, 220 russian. Same case head size as 7.62x39. Lot of blokes looking for a 7.62x39 are gonna make a ppc

Why not a 20 Dasher? That should get those little pills moving quick enough for you pair.
