Wasn't sure if the factory was 18 or 20" thought you might have gone 16" to make handling in the ute even easier.

No mate, I didn't have any say in the length, that's what it was when Tony Z sent it to me. But I am very happy with the way it looks, shooting in the next couple of days. :D

Be interested to see how she shoots. I have been thinking about moving on the 17hmr and going back to the good ol .22. The 17has been good, but it's too much for some things and not enough for others. Just my opinion of course.
Good luck with it.

I share that opinion. Wanna buy a really cool 17m4 instead?

Very different looking CZ Camel, I have a feeling its gunna get plenty of use. Interesting
discussion on HMR's I think when I got mine it was one of my better decisions. Couple of
properties I shoot are closely settled and the HMR gave me that extra punch to reach out
to 100 yards and beyond. So I think it just depends on your circumstances as I would much rather
be carrying a 22/250 but not able to at these places.
How noisey are the 20 calibres

Yeah mate, it sure looks different now.

Found the missing action screws after tearing the gun room apart, running around like an idiot, cursing everything that I could think of. Swearing, not sleeping, you know the usual stuff. Amazingly I found them in my spare parts box, in a zip lock bag marked CZ22 spares and parts. FMD who would have thought that would be the case.

Anyway, its together now, the barrel is floated, mounts and scope on. I used my old Tasco World Class 6 x 44 that I have had for years, still nice and clear, bugger all paralex. Just have to get out and give it a try out.

Croaky you are right, it does depend on what each situation is. I don't have anywhere to shoot that is less than 7,500 acres and most are a hell of a lot more than that. :D

Sounds like you would be a prime candidate for a 20 Vartarg :D

My 17 year old daughter came down the shed with a cup of coffee for me this morning while I was putting it together, she said very much the same thing. One of these days she will be able to use it, but she isn't that interested in shooting, the opposite sex has her nearly undivided attention these days.

Took it out today when cleaning up some junk at the brushcutters camp, not a very good test really, sighted it in, and had a go at shooting a few groups, wind, rain, and an unsteady rest over a block of wood with a cushion on it was not very good for shooting good groups. Still managed a couple of 1/2 inch 5 shotters at 40 metres, so it certainly has potential. Was ice to see very even smoke stains on the muzzle. No photos as the camera is behind me on the kitchen bench   Taking it out again tomorrow along with my portable AV bench and my rest to try and wring it out a bit. Hope the wind pisses off, but wont knock back the rain, another 4 inches would be a good start.

A photo of the crown on the muzzle of the new barrel on my 22. I reckon that's pretty good, eh.

That is after around 30 shots.

10 shots at 75 yards, bit windy, just rattled them out as quick as I could, :D

Hell mate- did you hit the $2 coin as it appears to be missing.

That's a nice star on the end.
