Re: 280ai
Hi Jack,
Long action sleeved remington. LRP barrelled it for me. Showing some early promise but waiting for the cases to settle in. Was the 6.5x284 I used a few years back. Light gun.
Cheers

Re: 280ai
My first 280 AI was made by Matt too, I started with a load of 53gn 09 for fireforming with 180 bergers and it shot so well I didn't change it.
My easiest barrel yet.
60:6 @ 1000 Belmont in a team shoot.
I always seem to shoot better in a team situation

Re: 280ai
That's good shooting at any range. Some people will work harder for the team because they hate letting others down. Not a bad thing in my book.204 Hunter wrote: ↑Thu Jul 13, 2017 10:33 am My first 280 AI was made by Matt too, I started with a load of 53gn 09 for fireforming with 180 bergers and it shot so well I didn't change it.

What speed did you get out of that load as a matter of interest?

Same for me with brass, I have 200 Norma brand new cases and RCBS dies for both SAAMI spec and non SAAMI spec chambers.
I really should start on this one. . . . Anyone know where a 7mm 1:9/1:10 is hiding?

Re: 280ai
Good enough reason to do it.
This is my first dedicated target barrel but the one's I used for hunting were over achievers. Not far behind the 7mm mag. Be interested in what you think of the 183's either way you decide to go.

The reason I shoot better in a team situation is that the coach does the wind reading:)
My pacnor barrel was getting around 2890 for 53gn of 09
Approach with caution.

Fair enough re the wind reading. Thanks for load data.
Will probably run 168gr bergers in this one. Short barrel to make lg weight for 1k br.
