RAW TM 1000 performance. Picture and video heavy.
Still working over the TM 1000 and finding out what the .177 calibre is capable of on targets and other things.
Compare some of this with what you see in airgun reports in the SSAA Journal.
Sample: 5 shots @ 60 yards:
5 shots at 70 yards (actually 71):
10 shots in each group here at 50 yards.
10 shots at 50 yards: "On Target" makes it ctc 0.424" (not as shown on calipers).
Another 10 shots at 50 yards: "on Target" measure 0.393" ctc:
And the turkey: ctc 0.495" in "On Target":
All shot with 8.4 gr JSB Exacts.
Having then sighted in with 7.9 gr JSB Express pellets for the 60 yd tree and a touch of 8:00 o'clock breeze, I waited with the camera installed for a starling to arrive at our Rosella nesting hole.
They are very quick and the logistics of camera sighting and operation makes it difficult so I didn't get a shot away until a couple had come and gone. With a little more mental rehearsal for the necessary operations I then got two shots off for two while the breeze stayed the same: View full screen by left clicking the bottom right corner of the video:

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v392/ ... 0yards.mp4
The view of the 60 yd tree over the rifle:
]
That was a nesting pair (the second has material in its beak) and no more came while we were at the farm last week. Our Rosellas have already reared one clutch earlier in the spring. ... Good job.
A bunch of groups shot at the base of the 60 yards tree. The starlings really had little chance.
But the top group, just a dot really, was shot with one of my BSA hornets with .22 barrel and 18.1 gr JSBs. If you compare the 5 shots with the fly at 3:00 o'clock you can get an idea of the groups' sizes.
All 5 shots groups:
Your mate Martin makes a fine rifle Lewis. It's a pity you couldn't get a dealer's ticket for them.
... Kind regards, Harry.

Will do Lewis.
To edit out the quote and pics look at the bottom right corner of YOUR post and you will see "Edit". Click on "edit" then select all the quote by clicking on the first part, hold the clicker down and drag it to the bottom of the quote and release . It will then be covered in shadow. Then just hit the delete key and it will all disappear.
That is how you will be able to do it anytime in the future to get rid of all, or the parts of a quote you don't need to show.
I have sent Martin some feedback and will add to it in a future email. I am keeping him informed. He has already made a new bench rest stock that is better after feedback from others and myself. .... Have a go at the edit thing. You won't go wrong. ... Best regards, Harry.

Now that is one fine "Girly Calibre" Rifle Harry. Do the firm make the .177 barrels for the guns or do they source a German/Swedish make, because they certainly shoot true at distance.
As usual great shooting.
cheers,
Ray.

Harry, I wouldn't compare your posts to SSAA that would be going backwards I don't think I have seen them shoot past 50m with air rifle reviews. That is some awesome shooting, and It is a very nice looking rifle Harry. Are you going to shoot benchrest with it? What distance is air rifle benchrest shot at? Is it only .177 or open to any cal?

Re: RAW TM 1000 performance. Picture and video heavy.
Ray the barrels are Lothar Walther. The barrels are made in .177, .20, .22, .25 ... The .22 and .25 I think can also be had in a Benchmark barrel with 3 grooves. That is one of the top rimfire barrel makers in USA.
It takes all of a couple of minutes to change barrels. I am considering getting a .20 cal barrel. The regulator seems to allow for just hammer spring adjustment to cover the 12 to 20 fpe range in my .177. There seems to be a heavier hammer for the .22 which takes it to 30 fpe. Perhaps such a hammer may allow for the really heavy .177 pellets (13.4 gr JSB and Koreans at 16 gr etc) to be shot to 24 or so fpe. .......... I will get a lot of girly fun out of this lady as time goes by. ... It is heavy though. 5.5 kg all up with a rather heavy adjustable scope base.
Ray are the Wolf Eyes torches still the top of the tree for beam and battery life?
Ryan, I do intend putting it up against the AA EV 11s our Aussie team won the World Champs with last year in LV class in USA.
Benchrest is so far shot at 25 m. the 10 ring is 2.0 mm and one shot per bug's eye for 25 shot cards, outdoors. Top scores go 245/250 to 250/250. Obliterating the 10 ring gives an "X" for count-back. The next shoot is in Melbourne at the end of the month along with the Dual Range .22 rimfire shoot ( 25 and 50 m for rimfires ).
Kind regards, Harry.

Straight from the factory in Tennessee Ryan. Martin Rutterford dealt directly with me at Lewis' request and the fact that they have no dealers in OZ. I imported it and jumped through the hoops. It had to go from Customs to as dealer of course. I used a dealer in Uralla who is a friend and top shooter.stinkitup wrote:Thanks Harry

You can get some info from the Home page here:
http://www.rapidairweapons.com/
They are presently US$2000 to $2350 depending upon model, barrel etc.
It cost me $120 for freight. Then there is GST of course. They do have laminated and LH and thumbhole stocks. I have recently seen a .22 cal 10 shot group at 100 yards of around 0.80 inches shot with 15.9 gr JSBs and a Benchmark barrel..
Best regards, Harry.

I am still quite happy with my Wolfeyes torches and batteries Harry; I keep updating my LED,s as new models that interest me appear on Glen,s site.
The 2 torches I have are a Wolfeyes Defender 2 with Red/White Leds on my Air guns and the Sea-lion with the 1000 Lumen long throw unit (17 HMR & 250/3000 Savage).
Fenring uses another brand of torch and Led,s and he also has a very good performance record with them.
Give Glen a call when you are ready and he will most definitely look after you.
With the opening performance of your magnificent RAW1000 from the other side of the Atlantic, I will pay keen attention to your future escapades with the gun.
Stay well,
Ray.

Thanks Ray - The Defender 111 or Nighthunter look useful and plenty long enough beam. Where is Glen located? ... KR, H.RayG wrote:Quote: Ray are the Wolf Eyes torches still the top of the tree for beam and battery life?
