Cleaning up

Post by Vermingone »

The other week the farmer asked me to take a look at his firearms and typically has never cleaned them. A .22lr and a .22k hornet [HONEYBEE].
So that in mind we had a look down the barrels and bloody hell what a mess.
We plugged the barrels both with some paper towel and sprayed WD 40 from the action end down until they both filled up with liquid and let them soak for a couple of hours standing muzzle end in the sink leaning against the kitchen window while dropping the bolts into a tray of diesel and scrubbing the shit out of them with an action brush.
When I pulled the plug out from the end of the barrel there was black sludge that gushed out into the sink we then scrubbed the hell out of the barrel with a bronze brush and then patched it clean and omg was like a new barrel and even shot straight again.
Great job removing the carbon and shite built up in the rifling.
